Bathing

After cruise, I went Mukawa to see shore birds.

I observed bathing of Rufous-necked Sandpiper.


 Long-billed Ringed Plover. It is rare species in Hokkaido, though it is not rare in Honshu, the day I've lived in Tokyo, I've seen it usually.
Little Ringed Plover was behind of Long-billed.

    Nice Broad Billed picture, they are rare near Hakodate (I saw one at Yakumo once).

    Long Billed Plovers are not so rare near Hakodate, I've seen them at 3 or 4 different places, usually in winter.

    I'm looking forward to October's cruise already!

    Some lovely photos of waders here!
    The bathing juvenile Red-necked Stint is so cute as well as the Long-billed Plover. The plover seems to be uncommon down here. I've only seen it once. The Broad-billed looks great as always. It's truly one of my most favourite waders. I've yet to see it in Japan.

    Thank you information.
    It was first time to see Long-billed Plover in Hokkaido.
    But it is a winter visitor in Honshu.

    I saw many Broad-billed in Hokkaido.
    This season is lucky year for waders.
